Treat Yourself this Valentine

Who says couples can be the only ones celebrating Valentine’s Day? There is a lot of love to show others but are you setting aside time to show yourself some love too? Valentine’s Day can be a great excuse for some well-deserved self-care. We have listed down few ideas for you to do on this oh-so-special occasion so you know who is worth all the attention.
Selfcare can always be a little check-in with yourself, mentally, physically, and emotionally to hit the reset button, and here is how you can make your day better with or without a partner.
Drink Water:
There is no better drink than water to give your body a wake-up call. It is the number one self-care habit you can abide by. Drain out the toxicity of yesterday by adding sliced lemon to your water for a fresh start to your day. It aids with digestion, supplies a healthy dose of vitamin C, helps prevent kidney stones along with oxidation.

Ease into the Day:
It’s time to slip into the day with some self-love yoga. A light yoga in the morning followed by meditation is soothing to the soul and mind helping set a zen-like mood. Follow your heart and treat yourself to a lovely breakfast including a hot cup of coffee or tea with a yummy avocado toast.

Morning Ritual:
A morning ritual of gratitude can take you to greater heights of success. Feeling grateful and appreciating those little moments of joy in your life is one of the most underrated rituals. It reinforces happiness and positivity and what’s better than that.
Follow this practice with some skincare routine, massage in some organic food for skin with some coconut oil. Prepare a DIY face mask for yourself in a little bowl of happiness
– Blend ½ a ripe tomato with 1 tablespoon of honey.
– Apply this paste evenly onto your face and leave it for 15 minutes.
– Wash off the face mask with cold water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Your smooth skin is ready for you to start showing your makeup skills.

Lunch Date:
If you love cooking then a day of pure pampering is incomplete without making your favorite cuisine.
Try a New Look:
Now that you’re all set with a full tummy and glowing skin, how about you slip into a new attire. Pick and choose, mix and match, create your own style, a new hairstyle, or a lipstick shade to shake up your routine and head out feeling confident.

Take a walk:
Connect yourself to nature as much as you can. An evening walk by yourself with a warm cup of tea or sitting by the lake watching the ducks quack away is a feeling you will cherish. Give your mind some time to relax, enjoy that breeze, that fresh grass and listen to nature calling out to you.

Soak it in:
Ending your day with a long hot bath is all you need at this point. Hot water relaxes your nerves and better prepares you for a night of deep sleep. When a tense body enters a warm bath, the hot water increases the body temperature and relaxes the muscles which not only soothes us physically but also mentally. So, light some candles, play soothing music, and soak into the warmth of peace. That being said, only 20 minutes is needed, and be sure not to fall asleep in the bath!

Write yourself a Love Note:
Open your happy book and fill it with all the good things you are grateful for, motivate yourself for goals you have been working on, and pat yourself on the back for the hurdles you overcame for the day. Once you start journaling you will come to realize how therapeutic this little activity can be.
Enjoy every minute of your me-time on this lovely day, tuck your phone away and snuggle up in your bed at night while reading a few pages of your favorite book.
